When you get mail, a lot of times it is junk and tends to go unnoticed. How can we invite executives who are busy about their day to take a look at an invitation?
I knew that going into this project that utilizing paper and envelope would be out of the question because was the standard for invites. It needed to be enticing to open and wouldn't be ignored. Since this was going to Japan where packaging are so elegant and simple, I wanted to take it back to traditional Japanese materials of wood for the outer shell. I had the Japanese phrase, "Nice to meet you", laser engraved on the top to give it a personal touch. I utilized rice paper for the origami envelope that I created a pattern myself and enclosed it with a wax seal that had Zendesk's logo on it. The materials and details were all considered so that it would feel cultural appropriate and on brand.
